We are finding ourselves inhabiting a strange new world. It’s the world of Covid-19, where we fondly remember the days when we “went to church.” On recent Sundays many of us have been producing or enjoying the new experience of church streaming live into our living rooms!
This is not the case for everyone. Not all churches are equipped or staffed to live stream their services. Those churches who equipped find they have very thankful congregations cozily surrounding their laptops to take in the sermon, and in some cases even serving ourselves communion with a spot of Cianti and Saltine cracker.
As of this writing, mid-April, 2020, not all or even a majority of churches are prepared for this level of continuity. For those churches who haven’t “live-streamed” we would like to offer our help (on the house). Please respond to this article with some specific issues you are facing in terms of conducting your service, reaching into the homes, reaching out to those in need, maintaining your staff and dealing with shrinking revenues.
We’ll take your “issues” and brainstorm with our network to see what encouragement and advice we can offer you. Some of those ideas and initiatives will appear on these pages in the future.
We will also be praying for the rapid coming of a “post Covid-19 normal!”
